You have to wait for your other bids to clear Daddy Warbucks.
Getting countered hurts. Period. We all hate getting countered. The issue I’ve noticed is being countered within the hour of actual bids going through. Is it within the rules? Yes, but it feels even worse and it delays the opportunity to bid on the next player for another 24 hours. It’s not hard to see why people are getting upset.
In my humble opinion, if you want to counter, notify the original bidder in advance or don’t wait 23 hours to do it.

Sorry mate, but I have to comment here and I’m going to disagree though please know this isn’t directed at you personally but rather the sentiment.
Notify the original bidder? I would think whomever came up with that one is too embarrassed to own up to it. “Hey pal, I’m going to counter you so go ahead and raise your original bid.” Smart strategy that, and yes, this is a competition the last time I checked. Now, I will say notifying after the fact is a nice to do.
As for waiting 23 hours, I can’t believe this is still a topic for discussion. I did this yesterday to Zooka, who I LOVE having in our league and who I chat with more than most and pretty regularly, and it was simply because I had to wait for my prior bid to clear. If the same happened to me, so be it. Not the counterbidders fault. And it’s happened to me.
Yeah, suffering a counter sucks, whether it’s minute 23 or hour 23. Well guess what. That’s the game! You don’t like it? Make your original bid higher. Lobby for the rule to be changed. Shut up and get over it. Quit. Take your pick, but the rule is the rule is the rule. I’ve been countered at hour 23 well into a window (which NO ONE made a peep about) and I didn’t have a fit or send nasty PMs. I’ve also been countered for millions and millions by guys I talk to all the time and I still talk to them regularly.
I don’t understand why there’s so much angst over counters of any kind. Again, plenty of options if you don’t like it, but don’t take it out on somebody making a good faith counter within the rules.
