My Dearest Liga Brethren

I’ve been with this Liga since Season 1. It has been frustrating, joyous, sickening, intoxicating and of course addictive.
More than anything, my addiction to the Liga has made the last few months very difficult. Life’s problems have come at me and my wife with a vengeance over the last seven years and there was always the Liga to distract me every day and help take the edge off. I am now facing the biggest challenge of my life, but doing the most important thing I will ever do in my life. It would have been nice to have the distraction but now it has just become a big downer. My frustrations have not had any buffer with the footballing world and the state of the world in general. Every time I watch a football match I’m reminded of the Liga that hasn’t been and with everything else going on, I can do without those daily reminders.

So effective immediately, I am resigning my ownership of FC Bayern Munchen and its affiliates in The Dynasty Liga.

I have to give a big thank you to Mikey/Zizou for his stewardship and hard work to keep the Liga going this long after it was on life support. He picked up the ball and made the Liga better than it was and better every season.

My closest online friend in the Liga has been Erick/X4L. Erick I cherish all the interactions we had in the Liga, butting heads in competition, but especially meeting you in person.

To all of you, I appreciate the competition with you all. I loved every minute of it, and I love you all.

As a going away gift to everybody, I’ve posted links to players that I had on my scouting list. It’s a big list. I culled it somewhat and tried to check for players that were already in the Liga, but of course being human, I could have missed some. For that I apologize. Evilo and Blau have expressed concern about my action. Hopefully there will be some new enthusiastic owners that come in and pickup where some owners dropped out. I know Z was looking for 2 new guys and now he’ll need one more. In some cases the new guys will inherit teams that need lots of work and attention to improve and it was likely too much of a challenge for those who dropped out. So as a gift to the new guys and you all, I leave my scouting list. That being said, even with that information, there’s a lot of work to do. I didn’t include CA/PA numbers. I didn’t include positions in the links. There may be players on the list that are already in the Liga. So it is up to you all to do your due diligence. I’ll leave it up to Z as to whether to leave it up or take it down. I really hope he leaves it up.

I honestly hope that the Liga returns for you and you have the best season yet. With that I say so long and wish you all the best.

Quite sad to be reading this James. I’d ask you to reconsider, but based on our PMs I can understand where you’re coming from even if I don’t have the same lived experience. Having only been around a few seasons now, I can honestly say that you have been an integral part of this league, and I’m not talking about all the great work you did with stats. You’re always on, you’re always prompt with PMs, you’re always great to chat with, you actually post in the songs thread and you’re a real pain in the ass to trade with, LOL. Hopefully you pop in from time to time. It goes without saying, but I’ll say it anyway, you’ll be missed sir.

James, I love you. It has been such a pleasure to be your friend here and beyond. You are one of the kindest and selfless human beings I have ever had the chance to meet, and you will be sorely missed here. I am so sorry that life has decided to provide you with these painful challenges that you have been dealing with for several years. I hope that you and your family can find peace soon.

As for your time here on Effliga/Dynasty Liga, I can’t imagine not having you and your observations around to amuse us and provoke us. You are an incredible asset, and an incredible friend. You will be sorely missed by me and everyone else here.
