it’s amazing that you can go your whole life and not hear music from a very good band. just the luck of the click on youtube. gonna explore their other songs.
April 7, 2026 at 5:18 am #21372I discovered New Order well after what I would say is their peak, but if you never hear something you never know. Music is much more easily accessible now. Still have plenty of New Order to explore, but definitely like their sound.
April 19, 2026 at 6:24 am #21399Having been in the operating room a few times, sometimes the doctor would have some music playing. So before one of my surgeries last fall, I made a playlist on spotify and took my phone with me into the ER. When I asked the nurse if she would play it until they put me under, she said “sure”. They probably turned if off after I was under, but it was fun while they were prepping me.
April 24, 2026 at 3:56 am #21404LOVE that James! Iโm fortunate thus far not to have more than two surgeries in my lifetime (knock on wood) and all I remember from the first was talking to them about MASH before they put me under.
I think Iโve only posted on Arcade Fire track thus far, though they have so many. This one came across my path again tonight. Iโve mentioned Wolf Paradeโs Dan Boeckner and pretty much all of his other endeavors before, posting many tracks. Well youโll see him in this video and he toured with Arcade Fire during this tour. On the one hand I think heโd make a great addition to the band, but on the other I like all of his other projects. Anyway, one of their more recent tracks:
April 25, 2026 at 3:32 am #21407With all my talk about Dan Boeckner youโd think heโs my favorite musician. Not sure Iโd say that, but just appreciate how many projects heโs done well. He had his first solo album about a year ago. From what Iโve heard I donโt love it, but definitely like this track.
April 26, 2026 at 4:55 am #21410I re-watched American Beauty for the first time in some time a few weeks ago. It still holds up. Anyway, this one is in it and another great track from The Who, who I still say are an underrated band in comparison to their British Invasion peers.
April 27, 2026 at 3:24 am #21412Iโve never been the biggest Eagles fan, but Iโm not The Big Lebowski when it comes to them either. Heard this one recently and Iโm definitely a fan. Makes me think of a night out in say 70s LA.
May 6, 2026 at 4:30 am #21423one of my oldie favorites. it sounds different from the record version so this appears to have been performed live. jay black had an amazing voice.

May 6, 2026 at 4:47 am #21426I learned today that Nedra Yvonne Talley-Ross, the last surviving Ronette passed away on April 26th. This happened to be my wedding anniversary. I have to admit I got choked up when I started listening to these songs.

May 7, 2026 at 4:16 am #21429I know I posted plenty of 90s tracks a little while back and plenty were from British bands each I listened to quite a bit back then. Oasis and Blur were the big ones during the Britpop years, but when Different Class came out it seemed as though a lot of people could get behind โCommon Peopleโ and the rest. And while theyโre not as known over here, they were surely one of the biggest 90s bands over the pond. Iโd say it was indeed warranted too as they were a bit of a different sound compared to a lot of what was out there then and they also had a run of three pretty strong albums in a row along with a couple of film soundtrack appearances including Trainspottingโs. Theyโve been covered by Franz Ferndinand (this track) and even David Bowie. โMis-Shapesโ is not my favorite Pulp track, but itโs up there. Seems yet another anthem from Different Class and it was a great track that to kick off the album with. Finally, Iโll add their recent comeback with a track from their latest album (which Iโve not heard).

May 15, 2026 at 5:54 am #21453An all time classic.
May 21, 2026 at 3:12 am #21459Harry Hole episode 1, on vinyl no less.
May 22, 2026 at 4:32 am #21460Apparently itโs been 20 years. Not as big a fan as I was of the band and they definitely dropped off, but still plnety from the first couple of albums. Still like this one though.
