why are you purposely upping the ante with your u21 team? It’s a game I Want to win so I’m going with regular UTD team.
Why am I not surprised? Using bench players would take some guts, figures you’d punk out.
LAFC is gonna win anyway.
I’m not sure what happened to my previous reply but it’s gone. I’ve been able to see all posts, even deleted ones on the admin panel but I don’t see this one. Not sure why. You might have noticed we can edit each other’s posts. I AM working to change that but those edits are viewable on the admin panel. No sign of my reply though. I should note that while owners CAN edit others’ posts, they do not have the authorization to without speaking to me. So, don’t.
I said… good on Kawai for sending in his subs. This sometimes a missed opportunity by owners with inconsistent or dissatisfying results to try a new approach or some needed modifications in player selection or any other part of the gameplan. I’ve mentioned that before and mentioned my River Plate team that went on a tear after the player selection was changed for a Cup round. We won that match and it turned our fortunes around in the league as the tac with that specific selection of players did wonders. I probably wouldn’t have made those changes if not for the benefit of the Cup round to test it against.
Motivated by Kawai, I’ve sent in lineups with my alternate selections at nearly every position, to try something new.
1/3 the way through the season and NOB has yet to taste defeat. Great improvement this season by Kawai!

As a reminder, lineups are expected to be sent each round. Please do not email to let us know what you want to do and have us refer to older lineups to correlate your instructions. All submissions should be self-contained with full instructions and tac file, if applicable, attached. The last thing we want is for simmers to have to make judgment calls which is happening too often this early in the season. Thanks!
Hopefully Italy can win it on merits alone, despite the obvious home advantage to the English. I did pick England to win it before the tournament started, as far as my gambling habits. I picked France or Italy to win but I actually put money on England because of the odds. I’ll stand to win 400 if England win. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence that England got that penalty call. Felix Brych has been the best ref of the tournament, I think. England just needed things to go their way, the same can be said about any team that wins a national tournament. They were awarded the ability to host these matches, they got the easier road to the final and they got some fortune, as shady as it seems. It’s straight sus. But that’s been football for 80 years.
when it came time for standard’s last subs, salah was one of the lowest rated players. in good conscience, I couldn’t sub him off. although I really wanted to. that’s why I have specific instructions on my line-up not to sub lukaku unless he’s injured or winning late in the match.
Been there! I don’t remember who it’s helped out in the past but I’ve seen leaving the best players on the pitch until it makes sense to pull them off per the instructions really come through for some managers. Unreal result. I guess no one should be surprised given the Czech’s record against the Dutch in the last few major tournaments. Xavi was with me for no era penal and I remember that morning in LA very well. I took it hard and I don’t quite remember the following week and a half quite as well. So, I won’t be shedding any tears for their spot of bother.
Also, I remember watching Greece win this tournament in 2004. I’m all for these upsets.
Lastly, how great is it seeing the fans in attendance? It’s amazing. Football is nothing without supporters and I’ve longed for it so much.
The Locatelli pickup has been fruitful.
