Lineups must be received by tomorrow in order to be simmed for friendlies. This is highly recommended as you will probably start getting your ass kicked if you don’t have an idea of what to do in Round 1. I’m prob not. But I have titles. I have nothing to prove. Some of ya’ll would be silly to pass up a freebie round.
James and I will sim all of the remaining submitted lineups over the weekend and Round 1 will begin next week. Also… just in-time for Round 1…. Predictions season.
Oh shit, I missed that. I’ll make sure to change that for next lineup submissions. If not a lot of people submit for friendlies I wouldn’t mind having another round of matches with my teams. Simmers, let me know and I’ll resubmit. Thanks!
Feel free to submit more lineups to consider. Sometimes we have an extra team with no matchup. No guarantee though.

I made this announcement in the shoutbox, which was probably not the best place for it.
The bench has been expanded this season to reflect the Premier League. 7 Outfielders, 1 GK. 3 Subs.
Next season, we will expand the bench even more and go from 3 subs to 5, to reflect the Premier League again.

This is a roll call for captains.
As a reminder, this is largely symbolic but having the WRONG guy at the helm can definitely have an adverse affect. You do not have to select two if you only want to select a Captain. Whenever a Captain or Vice Captain is not selected in a match, your Assistant Manager will select one for you. The same goes for if you choose not to select any captains. Your Assistant will select on a game-by-game basis. However, if you want to select your Captains for the season, as most do, please post them in the replies and the top post will be edited to reflect that.
For all intents and purposes, the rosters for Season 21 are final and will remain so until the open of the mid-season transfer window. Please see the Complete Rosters thread for the list of players. If you have FM22, HERE is a link to download the db. This db is not final as it does not have finalized assistant managers or captains but barring any mistakes that you point out, it will be final in terms of players.
This thread will lock over the weekend. The graphics on the site will be updated. And you will receive screenshots of your teams. Once there, we’ll post the lineup call for friendlies. If you need help creating a tac just send your instructions into our submission email and James, Bryn or I can do so.

The ironic thing here, in Blaugrana’s case, is that this tactic of flexing financial muscle and making increased offers to players that look to be headed elsewhere is one that Real Madrid employs.

Considering the nature of this league and that of the real world, not sure I agree. In fact, I don’t. And it’s not like Barça didn’t “hijack” Malcom.
With regards to financial muscle, I think JR has as much if not slightly more to spend as I do. Anyway, I guess counters are frowned upon.
I’ve got no skin in this game. Some teams in the real world do this often. Real Madrid in the real world does it most. Some GMs in this league do this, obviously. Some don’t, or at least anywhere near as much as those who do it often and some have their own rules, which to each their own. You’ve probably done it the most of anyone this window, your first, and that’s what Real Madrid does in real life, and that was the only observation I was making, which I found ironic and that made me chuckle, nothing more.
At any rate, it’s an observation I made because I was trying to think back of the last time I saw any counters on the final day and couldn’t think of one and FM12 was my first season.

Correct. Blaugrana has up until the trade deadline, which expires after the last new free agent bid clears 24 hours, to acquire a backup U21 goalkeeper unless JR counter bids and frees him up to make a bid which would have to come in the next 4 & 1/2 hours. All things being equal, this is a poor allocation of bid time, IMO, but the previous counter bids also didn’t help either. Unless he can pull it off and engage in a trade prior to but time is running out and due to the timing of this counter, JR is in control somewhat.
He is only eligible for Senior. Bid edited for clarity.
