Xavi once told me that I probably did more harm than good talking about my strategy or lack thereof and focusing more on acquiring the players I actually like than focusing on the kind of players I bring in. Because it caused him to abandon his ever-changing shift in strategy to meld to whatever mask he wanted to wear and just get… whoever. I found that assignment of blame (although tongue-in-cheek) funny but I get what he meant.

It’s really all up to you and what you put into it. I’ve played Ultimate Team, Master League and every Career mode under the sun. If I can hand-select my players, I will. And I’m willing to try to find the right balance after the fact. I’m willing to admit that for me, it’s player-first mentality. With that said, I’ll admit that I’m not too bad an eye at predicting the odd prospect here and there. And I’ve done a good enough job over my 10 years being involved that I’ve developed the depth to be able to make that work. That last part is tough to do because you have to make sure you have the ability to be versatile, otherwise you’re at the complete mercy of FM’s interpretation of your players. Some will surely be rated poorly or wholly inaccurately or just be one-to-two years behind at any given time on a player. So, “balance” FM will truly determine. But there’s also work you can do to find that. Regardless of whether you’re a gem hunter like me or you’re more conservative and deliberately like Xerxes and Roberdino or you play the long-term game like James and Xavi, you need to try to achieve a balance amongst your teams. And if you don’t, then you’re really just hoping for an FM prayer to be answered. And those rarely happen.

But yeah, neglect began a few seasons ago and we made the switch so hopefully LITN can correct the ship’s course.

Excited to see what LITN can do. I remember his teams, though at that time I think he only had two, being very tough to play against. Consistently tough. But let’s be honest, there’s literally no way he could make this team any worse. Even Gasperini is looking around like 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Curtinho has been sacked, for all intents and purposes, from his position as a GM in DynastyLiga by league management. We thank Curt for all of his contributions over the years and wish him the best going forward.

We have a few potential GMs inquiring about joining the league. If you know of anyone that is looking to get involved, feel free to DM me his email address to add to the list of considerations.

As for submissions during the meantime, I will create 1 tac file to be used for submissions for each team until the new GM joins the league. Liverpool, Heerenveen and Atlético Ottawa’s formation, tactic style and the XI will be determined by that team’s current assistant coach. No subs will be made unless injured or red carded.
