Fleetwood Mac is a band whose catalog I really need to explore more. Plenty there as I understand it. In this instance it was the cover that brought me to the original. I like both versions.
Congrats guys.
I love the original here, but seeing as how The Clash are probably my favorite band I love their version too.
Day 2 of Covers Week gang.
I’m guessing this one needs no introduction. All I’ll say is Neil Young…. Wow. Still, Hendrix sort of made it his own and love the intro to his version.
I’m declaring this covers week, so post some of your favorite covers along with the original.
Big Cat Stevens fan thanks to a good friend. Recently heard this Father John Misty cover of “Trouble” and thought it was pretty good.
Confirmed. Thanks as always mate.
So I’m going to cheat with this one. Continuing the Boeckner theme with Operators. I need to explore them more, but definitely some tracks I like and seemingly an evolution to a degree of Handsome Furs even though I prefer the latter. Really like both of these tracks though.
Boeckner was also in Divine Fits with some of the guys from Spoon, but I haven’t taken to much of their album. I like this track, but Boeckner isn’t on vocals.

Continuing on from my last post, Boeckner’s next project after Wolf Parade was Handsome Furs which in my opinion yielded three strong albums. Sadly the band ended when their relationship seemingly ended. Here’s a track from their first album.
I’ll stay in Canada with Wolf Parade. Second track I’ve posted by them and it’s a Dan Boeckner as an opposed to a Spencer Krug track which I tend to prefer, though they make a great duo if you ask me.. That’s intentional here as subsequent posts will feature Boeckner. Back to their debut album even. One of my favorite current acts.
Confirmed. Cheers mate, pleasure doing business with you.
I’ve found more acts from Canada the past decade or more than I ever thought were out there. Alvvays have a few solid efforts. I quite like this one.
I don’t know The Jesus and Mary Chain that well, but I have their Stoned and Dethroned album which I really like as a whole and as a concept album. This is more their sound though and I like this track.
I can’t remember if this was in Lost in Translation too.

LOL James!
As big a Smiths fan as I am, I’m an equally big Morrissey fan who has a very good catalogue himself. Surprised I haven’t posted a track of his yet. My exposure to many of the bands I like has been somewhat after the fact. The Smiths were broken up before I got into them and quite probably ever even heard then. Morrissey was a few albums into his solo career as well. If Vauxhall and I wasn’t my first introduction to his solo work, it came only shortly thereafter. The album works as a whole and has plenty of tracks, but “Billy Budd” is a track that I just loving sing in my own Morrissey voice. The album and the track, along with a lot of his other tracks around that time highlight for me the supporting act he had behind him. Pretty sure some of those guys were with him for quite a while too. Anyway, I like this fan video to go with the track:

I didn’t get to share this memory on the mountain like we originally planned to because Erick had to coach his footy team in a tournament so we missed getting to share the moment together when it happened. Getting to relive it with him to this incredible soundtrack at the end of this wonderful series took my breath away.
I’m not familiar with that track, but I like it. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to have a look at your list as well.
