To think I was waiting until Halloween to post this one and then just forgot. Much like David Bowie, Morrissey had his guitarist (a couple of musicians actually) who probably don’t get much credit but who were in part responsible for his sound which is notably different enough to that of The Smiths. I’d say you could put together a ten track greatest hits of Morrissey that would probably compete with that of The Smiths. Anyway, live version of this one is better than the studio take if you ask me.

Final day of the week and so final cover. I think the ladies did a great job on this one, but Mr Simon’s approval is what counts.

I missed a night and covers weeks is almost over, so I’m making up for that. Two bands I like, The Smiths way up there for me. I think the original is better, but very nice effort from Radiohead. Breaking this track down a bit, the vocals are one component. I prefer Morrissey, but Thom is definitely into it. Thom’s vocals aside, it’s still got a bit of a Radiohead feel to it. And then the guitar work of Marr, which is excellent here, is not a problem for Greenwood, but it adds to the Radiohead sound if you ask me. One of The Smiths’ best, easily, and even the bass work of Rourke excels.
