not one of my favorite songs but interesting clip.
September 10, 2025 at 6:05 am #20614September 13, 2025 at 2:40 am #20625I posted some 90s tracks recently. Back then I used to watch a show they had on MTV at the 10pm time slot on Sunday nights called 120 minutes. It was essentially their “alternative” show. Belly was a band they’d play occasionally and they had a few tunes that I really liked. Still like them today. The all seem to have that “swirling” 90s guitar work as a I call it, which doesn’t seem difficult to play. Of course I think it was Tonya Donnelly’s vocals that I enjoyed most anyway. Can’t decide which one to post so I’ll cheat.
Probably like “Feed the Tree” the best.

Second track by them I’m posting. Obvious one I suppose, but still one of my favorites from them. Sounding great is one thing, but also like the track title and some of the lyrics, like “her Hitler hairdo….” Again, so many tracks I could post from them including from this album. Saw them live for this album for the first and only time in Chicago in a much smaller venue than what they’re playing today. Also still pretty vividly remember driving the full stretch of Yellowstone with some mates from High School/College as the sun set listening to the full album.
November 14, 2025 at 6:58 am #20763I used to watch boxing nearly some 20 years ago when it was on HBO regularly. They’d broadcast the big PPV fights the following week so I was only paying my monthly HBO subscription for them. Since that coverage has gone elsewhere I don’t really follow boxing at all. All I get is TalkSport talking about at times during the Simon Jordan segment that I listen to pretty much every weekday. Well a big fight is happening in England this weekend, Chris Eubank Jr vs Connor Benn 2. So I went to YouTube to see if the first was available and so it was. I’ve only got to the intros so far, but Ben came out to this which I thought was great.

After I got married, whenever I went to Christmas church services with my wife and the hymn “Joy to the World” came up, I’d turn to her and sing in a low voice –
“Jeremiah was a bullfrog
Was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
But I helped him a-drink his wine
And he always had some mighty fine wine
Singin’…
Joy to the world
All the boys and girls now
Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea
Joy to you and me”Rest in peace Chuck Negron.
